Gìthaka-inì is a Kikuyu word whose direct translation is 'In the bushes' or 'In the forest'.
In this song, this word has been used to mean 'In the wilderness ' meaning 'In tough seasons' rather than a literal wilderness.
This song was borne in prayer in an intimate moment with the HolySpirit. It was one of those times when God takes time to explain to you why 'the wilderness ' has to exist. Many people ask God many times; "Why do bad things happen to good people... or to anyone at all?"
God took time to explain many things in this revelation.
And for any Christian believer, your tough season has been designed to bring out the warrior in you.
In face of the lion, Samson found out about his annointing. In face of the bear, it brought out a testimony in David that he used as a weapon against the giant Goliath.
No wonder Paul writes and says we count it all joy when we go through tribulations of all kinds. Because of what they PRODUCE. And that is the fighter in you.
May you realize what must be achieved through your tough times, and pray for God's Grace; rather than for Him to take away what He uses to train us.
