The Scorpios have a really wonderful sound here – a mode that's way different than just the familiar Afro Funk styles you'll hear from other groups – and a style that really represents their long journey in music! The record is really fleshed out with a range of sounds – at times very rootsy and organic, with lots of percussion and vocals, other times almost jazzy – and sometimes a bit more in a deep funk mode, but always with a vision towards the larger mission of the group! There's a cohesive imagination here that's wonderful, and which keeps things moving at a very fresh pace throughout – as trumpet, tenor, guitar, keyboards, and all the other familiar instruments are used in nicely different ways – on titles that include "Samara Brown Complexion", "Yellah Let's Go", "Samha Beautiful", "Traditional Bridal Song", "Azzah", "Algrbow Yahenan", and "Mashena We Want". © 1996-2022, Dusty Groove, Inc.
